Robber forces clerk back into store at gunpoint

HOUSTON – Houston police officers are looking for a robber who approached a clerk at his car and forced him back into the store.

The robbery happened back in September.

Surveillance video shows the robber point a gun at the clerk's head outside of the Lydia Food Store in the 3500 block of Lydia Street.

The robber and the clerk exchanged words briefly outside before the robber forced the victim to enter the store, police said.

Investigators tell KPRC the robber forced the clerk to take the money from the register and hand it over to him. They say the robber then stole a pack of Newport cigarettes and cigarillos.
