Lockdown lifted at Lamar High School after search for chase suspects on campus

HOUSTON – A lockdown at a Houston Independent School District campus was lifted just after noon on Tuesday after police searched for several chase suspects. 

According to police, Bellaire officers were conducting a traffic stop around noon, but the driver kept going. The officers chased suspects onto the Lamar High School campus. 

On person was taken into custody, while officers hunted for accomplices. 

It is unclear why police were chasing the suspects.

The lockdown was lifted around 12:15 p.m.
