Driver found shot to death inside truck after crashing into southwest Houston home

HOUSTON – A man found dead inside a truck that crashed into a home in southwest Houston had gunshot wounds, according to police.

Police were called to a home on Darnell near Bissonnet around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neighbors told investigators they heard arguing and multiple gunshots.

Officers discovered a Nissan Frontier had smashed into the house.

The driver appeared to be the victim of a shooting and died at the scene, according to investigators.

It is unclear if the man died from the gunshot wounds or the crash, according to police. Investigators said the structural damage from the collision is making it difficult for them to enter the home and examine the body.

Investigators believe the man may have been shot first along Reims near Grape and then drove into the house. Police found shell casings on the street.

The people inside the home were not hurt.

Police have not made any arrests or released any suspect information. The case remains under investigation.
