Man struck, killed while changing tire on Southwest Freeway


HOUSTON – A man was struck and killed Saturday while changing a tire on Southwest Freeway, Houston police said.

The incident was reported at 11:55 a.m. at 100 Southwest Freeway.

Police said the 58-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were changing a tire on a white Chevrolet Express when their vehicle was struck by a blue Ford Crown Victoria.

The two men and driver were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where the 58-year-old man was pronounced dead.

Police said the 50-year-old man and driver suffered non-life-threatening conditions.

Police said the driver of the Ford did not show signs of intoxication.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
