Man shot to death after altercation in SE Houston, police say

Investigators searching for suspects and witnesses


HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating the deadly shooting of a man in the 8500 block of Broadway Street about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said the victim was involved in an altercation at the corner of Broadway and Rockhill streets. When he tried to run away from the suspect(s), police said the victim was shot multiple times.  

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Several witnesses fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

The identity of the victim, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
