HOUSTON –
A father is recovering after police say he was shot while he was driving a young child around in East Houston.
According to police, the man was at a concert with his daughter on Homestead Road and East Mount Houston Road, when the child became restless. Police say the man took the child for a drive to calm her down.

During that drive, police say someone driving by shot at the car. The man was hit. The child was unhurt.
Investigators say the man was taken to the hospital.
Police do not have any suspects in custody.
