Wild chase ends in arrests of 2 suspected car thieves
HOUSTON – A wild half hour police chase ended Wednesday with two people in handcuffs, police said.
A BMW that was reported stolen around 2 a.m. was found on Broadway near I-610. Officers tried to stop the driver but he kept driving, police said.
Officers chased the vehicle down the loop and onto I-45 south. During the chase, the passenger's side front tire blew out and the driver exited the freeway and stopped at an Exxon gas station at Astoria.
Officers took the driver and passenger into custody.
The driver is believed to have a felony warrant for robbery, police said.
No one was injured in the chase.
