Man wounded in Midtown drive-by shooting, police say

HOUSTON – A man was hospitalized Friday after being shot several times in Midtown, Houston police said. 

The victim was walking at the intersection of Gray and Fannin streets at 10:30 p.m. when the driver of a gray or silver car drove near the man, stuck a gun out the window and opened fire, officials said.

Police said the driver fled the scene.

Officials said the victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious condition, but is expected to recover.
