HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle during a hit-and-run when he was pushing his van Saturday morning in west Harris County, police said.
According to police, Tushar Patel, 38, ran out of gas and started pushing his black Toyota Sienna along the Katy Freeway when he was hit near Barker Cypress Road.

Police said Patel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of a newer-model Ford XLT pickup truck hit Patel and fled the scene.
