Man presumed to be dead after attempting to swim across floodwaters in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A man is believed to be dead after attempting to swim across floodwaters in Montgomery County on Monday, authorities said.

Around 11:30 p.m., a man was seen by multiple witnesses attempting to swim across floodwaters near the Grand Parkway and Spring Trails Ridge, according to authorities.

The man was seen entering the water near the front of the Spring Trails neighborhood. Witnesses saw him go into distress, officials said.

The witnesses attempted to assist the man, but were unsuccessful. Rescue crews were not able to deploy due to the fast-moving floodwaters.

The man is believed to be dead, according to officials.
