1 killed, 1 seriously injured after crash in NE Houston

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a crash in northeast Houston on Saturday.

Police said the driver of a red Cadillac SRX SUV was stopped in the northbound lane of traffic at 10600 Homestead Road around 5:15 p.m. when the vehicle was struck by a red Hummer H3. Police said the driver of the Hummer failed to control the vehicle's speed at the time of the crash.

The passenger in the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the Cadillac was seriously injured.

Houston police are continuing to investigate.
