LA PORTE, Texas – Police captured a La Porte man early Sunday morning after the suspect shot his stepson twice during an argument, officers said Monday.
Police learned of the shooting shortly after midnight and went to 2040 Sens Road to investigate, according to a news release from the La Porte Police Department.

When officers got to the area, they found the victim lying in the road with two apparent gunshot wounds, police said. He was rushed to a hospital.
The suspect, Raul De Leon, had taken off before police arrived.
Officers determined De Leon shot his stepson in an argument. De Leon was captured by La Porte police a short time later.
He was caught a short distance from the scene of the shooting, officers said.
De Leon faces a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. He failed to post his $40,000 bond and was taken to the Harris County Jail.
