Teen hospitalized after being shot in west Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A 15-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder Saturday in west Houston, police said.

The incident was reported at 3:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Lakeside Estates Drive.

Police said the 15-year-old boy was walking with a group of four teens when he was shot. Police were able to recover the gun.

Police believe someone in the group may have accidentally shot the teen.

"He's in stable condition. He's going to make it,” Detective Mike Dykens said. “At this point we’re still trying to rule out foul play. It's like it could be accidental. That's what everything is leading towards."

Police said the 15-year-old boy is in stable condition.

Detectives are at the scene.

No arrests have been reported.
