Stormy start to work week

HOUSTON – Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Liberty, Polk, and San Jacinto counties until 4 p.m.

Scattered storms continue to move through the region for the next few hours with brief downpours and lightning.

As storms wind down tonight, skies clear to partly cloudy and we’ll stay dry for the remainder of Sunday night. However, we’ll stay very muggy and mild with overnight lows only falling into the low 80s.

More storms are likely early Monday morning as a front slowly sags southward from Dallas which could impact the morning commute.

After a break mid-morning, more storms are likely to fire up in the afternoon. Some storms could be strong bringing heavy rain, lightning and a threat for some minor flooding.

Highs will be warm again, in the low 90s.
