Motorcycle driver killed in crash in NW Houston

HOUSTON – A person driving a motorcycle was killed in a crash overnight Friday involving a suspected drunk driver in Harris County.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies said a Toyota SUV was southbound at 11:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of Barker Cypress Road when they turned left and collided with a motorcycle traveling north.

Deputies said the motorcycle struck the SUV in the passenger side.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken by Life Flight to a hospital, but died, according to deputies.

Deputies said the driver of the SUV was not injured, but was found to be intoxicated and arrested for DWI.

Investigators said the intersection had a light and they are working to determine which driver ran the red light.
