Harris County officials find illegal gambling at game room

Andy Lam, 27, faces charges

HOUSTON – After receiving several tips from people in Harris County, investigators from Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office served a search warrant at a game room on Thursday, which culminated in the arrest of a 27-year-old man, authorities said.

Andy Lam is accused of possessing gambling equipment and paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor charge, according to a news release.

Officials also seized nearly 100 pieces of gambling paraphernalia and more than $15,000 in illegal gambling proceeds from the game room, in the 900 block of FM 1960 West, investigators said.

Authorities said they conducted a thorough investigation into the alleged gambling establishment before the bust. Officials gathered evidence to show the game room was paying customers illegally, the news release said.

Herman said additional criminal charges for other game room attendants are expected.
