Wednesday's Warrior: Lejeune family copes with a tragic loss from cancer

HOUSTON – Amy and Boyce Lejeune lost their daughter, Paige, to leukemia in October. The girl had fought a three-year battle for life.

Mom, Dad, and brother Jeremy are now trying to figure out how to continue life as a threesome, missing their beloved fourth member.

Paige had T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer.

There were highs and lows in her battle for life, including periods of remission, but in the end, the cancer was too much.

Her parents describe Paige as fiercely independent, passionate and sassy. In control.

Her absence from their home and their life leaves them broken, but determined to keep her spirit alive while they forge ahead.

They credit their strong religious faith for the strength to persevere

As part of the coping process, Amy started a blog to put her feelings in writing, opening her deepest feelings to the world.  You can read her blog here

The blog not only helps Amy cope, but it is a vehicle to keep Paige’s spirit alive and thriving.
