Cemetery wants to hold movie showings; nearby residents push back

WAUSAU, Wisc. – Movie critics are turning their attention to Wisconsin, but it's not a film that has them riled up.

Instead, they are upset about the location.

The Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery plans to show "Ghostbusters" next month.

Some residents living nearby said the event is disrespectful to the people buried in the cemetery.

Employees disagreed. "It's basically a community outreach," said employee Sue Syring. "We have such a beautiful location here at Restlawn that we want to share it with everyone."

The showing of "Ghostbusters" is scheduled for Aug. 11.

The cemetery plans to hold a movie night every month this summer.
