PEARLAND, Texas – Tuesday was the first day in the trial of a woman charged in the death of a Pearland police officer.
Amber Willemsen is charged with intoxication manslaughter of a peace officer.

Investigators said she admitted to drinking a beer and two cocktails before the two-crash that killed Pearland Officer Endy Ekpanya in June 2016.
It was the first time the Pearland Police Department lost an officer in more than 40 years.
