BRAZOS BEND, Texas – Two people have been charged in connection with a string of burglaries in the Eagle Springs and Atascocita area June 7.

After Constable Mark Herman's office responded to the 12400 block of Brazos Bend Trail in reference to burglary of a habitation and stolen vehicle, it said an investigation began that found a string of crimes --12 burglaries of motor vehicles, three criminal mischiefs to motor vehicles, one burglary of a habitation and one stolen vehicle -- all part of one criminal episode on the same night.

Deputies said they were able to locate a suspect vehicle, which led them to a suspect, who was in jail on an unrelated charge after the burglaries.

An interview with that suspect led investigators to additional evidence related to the crimes, linking two people to the crimes the night of June 7.

Kayla Turk and Julius Riggs were both arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Neither received bail during their hearing.
