FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A 34-year-old man was arrested after stealing a truck and starting a police chase in Fort Bend County on Monday, according to authorities.
Laderius Deshawn Jackson is accused of stealing a vehicle from 15050 Beechnut Street around 3:55 p.m., authorities said.
According to reports from the scene of the theft, Jackson was involved in a heated argument with his mother over money.
During the argument, a good Samaritan attempted to stop the argument, but instead became involved in a fight with Jackson.
"A good Samaritan walked over to see if she needed any help," Lt. David Brantley, with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, said.

When a second person attempted to stop the fight, Jackson jumped in that person's truck and left the scene.
Deputies attempted to stop Jackson, but he instead led authorities on a chase, according to authorities.
The stolen vehicle was struck by a Fort Bend County deputy and then hit a parked car, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
The chase ended near Beechnut Street and Manzano Drive.
Jackson was arrested and is facing charges for evading arrest and stealing the truck.
