Suspect surrenders after chase ends in NE Houston with officers' guns drawn

HOUSTON – Police on Thursday chased the driver of a suspected stolen Cadillac Escalade from Stewart Cadillac in the 2500 block of Main Street.

The chase started just after 9 a.m. after the man was accused of driving the SUV off the lot.

Police stopped the driver at Tidwell and Crofton. Officers could be seen surrounding the SUV with guns drawn.

Residents in a nearby apartment complex watched through a fence and appeared to be taking video with their cellphones pointed toward the man being apprehended.

The driver of the SUV got out of the Cadillac with his hands raised and was quickly taken into custody.

Police identified the man as Christopher Vallery.

The SUV was loaded onto a tow truck and taken away from the scene.
