Houston leaders hold moment of silence for Manchester attack victims

Mayor, council members pause to remember terror victims

HOUSTON – Houston's leaders took time out of Wednesday's City Council meeting to remember the victims of the terror attack in Manchester, England.

Mayor Sylvester Turner asked for prayers during the meeting.

"Let's continue to pray for Manchester. But let's just continue to pray for humanity as a whole," said Turner. "And if you will, in light of what took place, if we would just have just a moment of silent prayer. And in your own way, if you will ask God to give strength to those families and to heal those who have been wounded."

The mayor and council members then observed a moment of silence.
