The male victim -- whose name and age have not been released -- was stabbed near a Torchy’s Tacos about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to reports. He died at an area hospital.

Witnesses said it started when the costumed man began threatening the victim. When the victim tried to move away from the suspect, the suspect took swings at him with the "claw gloves," according to KDVR’s report.

Witnesses said they saw the victim walk away with the costumed man following him, but the witnesses didn't see what happened after that, according to court documents.

Police said they have video of the area that shows a man on a scooter matching the suspect’s description and saw him throw something in the bushes. Police said when they searched the area, they found a bloody knife in the bushes.

Police said they found the suspect about two miles away, his clothes covered with blood, according to KUSA.

Gulzow reportedly told police that the man who died had attacked him and taken his scooter. Guzlow said he had tackled the man to get his scooter back and they both fell very hard. Police said he claimed the victim may have been hurt when he jabbed the claw glove at the man or if he fell on one of Gulzow's spiked bracelets.

Authorities said the man died from a single stab wound to the throat.
