Austin man sought as one of Texas' 10 most wanted sex offenders

AUSTIN – An Austin man has been added to the 10 most wanted sex offenders list in Texas. 

The Texas Department of Public Safety is offering a cash reward up to $2,000 for information leading to Everett Cole Rainey’s arrest.

Officials said Rainey is wanted for failure to comply with the sex offender registration requirements and probation violation.

He was convicted of aggravated sexual assault in October 2011 after an incident in Caldwell County where he and four other men sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl.

Rainey is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He has tattoos on both wrists and on his chest.

Officials said he is a high-risk sex offender and has ties to San Marcos and San Antonio.
