MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Two women were arrested on forgery charges during a traffic stop Sunday.

The Montgomery County Constable Pct. 4 Office said after Courtney Rosas, 25, and Sharon Hickson, 50, were pulled over in the area of FM 1485 and Highway 59 in New Caney, the deputy noticed an anomaly on the Texas ID cards he was given. He said it appeared a digit on each of the cards was altered.

Deputies said that after the women were positively identified, the officer then found many receipts from area big box stores.

The Constable's Office said Rosas and Hickson were using the altered ID cards to aid in fraudulent returns at the stores.

Rosas and Hickson were both arrested and charged with forgery, a third-degree felony.
