Woman accused of spooking horses in dinosaur costume surrenders
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Police in South Carolina say the woman who dressed up in an orange dinosaur costume and spooked carriage horses has surrendered to authorities.
Nicole Wells, 26, of Charleston, was charged with disorderly conducted and masked or disguised person. She was cited and released, according to Charleston police.
Police say Wells, dressed in the costume stepped off the sidewalk and began making growling noises at the horses on Thursday afternoon.
The horses got spooked, police said, and backed up – a move that sent the carriage backward into a parked vehicle.
The driver lost his balance and fell off the carriage. A wheel rolled over one of his legs. Police said he was sent to an area hospital with minor injuries.
No one else was hurt.
