Off-duty officer, another driver injured in 3-vehicle crash on Gulf Freeway feeder road

HOUSTON – An off-duty officer and another driver were injured Friday in a crash on a Gulf Freeway feeder road in southeast Houston.

Investigators said the officer was working at a construction site when a handicapped driver slammed into the back of his personal truck, kept going and drove onto the ramp of the freeway, officials said. When the driver stopped, another car hit his vehicle.

The officer and another driver were taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
