Man killed in crash after speeding in NE Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A man was killed Saturday in a crash Saturday northeast Houston.

Police said the 55-year-old man was driving a silver Saturn at a high rate of speed south on Lockwood Drive when he veered out of his lane and struck a grassy median.

According to police, the man lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree and a light pole off the road. 

The man died at the scene, police said. His identity is pending verification by Harris County forensics.
