MAGNOLIA, Texas – The Houston SPCA has rescued 66 dogs Friday from a Magnolia pet grooming and boarding shop, officials said.
The Ruff N Fluff shop was reported May 4 to Montgomery County animal control officers for cruel confinement issues. The shop was previously warned about the animals’ conditions.
During a follow-up visit, a Houston SPCA cruelty investigator found the animals in confined and unsanitary cages, which were filled with urine and feces, officials said.
Investigators said many of the animals had medical issues.
Officials said the animals were rescued and taken to the Houston SPCA for evaluation and care.
The case will be heard Wednesday by a Precinct 5 justice of peace. The owner of the shop could lose his or her license.
