Fire destroys abandoned home in north Houston

HOUSTON – A huge fire destroyed what was left of a home being torn down for new construction in north Houston.

Houston firefighters were called to the home at 3 a.m. Thursday, where huge flames were shooting from a big pile of trash on Pheasant near Tulane.

The fire spread to the abandoned home and a car that was in the garage.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters said the homes in that neighborhood were being torn down for renovation.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
