Houston schools named to 'Most Challenging High Schools' list

3 Houston schools made top 20


HOUSTON – Three Houston schools made The Washington Post's list of "America's Most Challenging High Schools."

Schools are ranked through an index formula: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year. 

Houston's Mickey Leland College Prep ranked second, Carnegie Vanguard came in 14th and Young Women's College Prep ranked 19th.
