Driver injured in road rage shooting in northeast Harris County, authorities say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is recovering Tuesday after what authorities called a road rage shooting in northeast Harris County.

Police said two groups of people in a Chevy Tahoe and a BMW were chasing one another around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on the Beltway at Aldine.

The victim said he and the other driver pulled into a parking lot off Lauder, and a fight broke out between the groups. He said someone in the BMW pulled out a gun and started shooting.

The driver in the Tahoe was shot once and drove away, according to investigators.

The man crashed into a curb, which destroyed three tires and the bumper of his Tahoe, but kept going, deputies said. The victim came to a stop in the 1200 block of Macnaughton and ran into a neighborhood to escape the shooter, investigators said.

He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
