Man accused of stealing bike from NW Houston home arrested
HOUSTON – A day after the Houston Police Department and Crime Stoppers released surveillance video of a neighborhood bike theft, an arrest was made.
The bicycle was stolen between 2 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 17.
Andrew H. Freeman was arrested Friday morning by Harris County Precinct 1 deputy constables in the 300 block of Airline Drive without incident, according to deputies.
Investigators said Freeman, 55, backed into the victim's driveway in the 1000 block of 15th Street, then walked into the garage and took a maroon Cannondale bicycle and put it in the back of a stolen white Chevrolet pickup truck.
On Feb. 13, authorities said Freeman was identified and charged for stealing a dolly from another Heights home. Deputies recovered the dolly for an area pawn shop and returned it to the owner.
