Overcrowded Sugar Land animal shelter offers lower adoption fees

Shelter offers sleepover program

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The Sugar Land animal shelter is dealing with overcrowded conditions. To ease the overcrowding, it is offering lower adoption rates for dogs and cats.

The special adoption fees are $55 for dogs and $40 for cats. The normal fees are $110 for dogs and $95 for cats. The lower prices will be available through June 18.

The shelter currently has 29 dogs and 45 cats. The facility is designed to have only 24 dogs and 35 cats.

In addition to the lower adoption fees, the shelter is also offering a sleepover program. Those interested in adopting can take a pet home to see if it's a good fit before making a commitment to adopt it.
