Philanthropist Mimi Dompier dies

Dompier was longtime supporter of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

Philanthropist Mimi Dompier died Tuesday afternoon, family said. 

Dompier was known for her work with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, along with the Farm & Ranch Club.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's president and CEO, Joel Cowley, issued a statement, saying "Mimi Dompier was an amazing Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo volunteer, action buyer and friend.

Her generous spirit and unique personality will be missed by the young Texans she supported through the Show, and by the volunteers and staff who had the privilege to work with her."

Dompier is survived by her husband, Tom, and two children.

A memorial service, for Mimi,  will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77027 on Tuesday, May 2 at 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary.
