1 dies in double shooting in SW Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A woman was killed and a man was injured Tuesday in a double shooting in southwest Houston, police said. 

Houston police said there were called at 12:20 p.m. to 3200 Old Spanish Trail after someone reported people injured in a vehicle. 

Police said the driver of the vehicle went to the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center to call for help. 

The back-seat passenger, Phillipa Dever, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger who was shot in the arm was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition, police said. 

The driver of the vehicle was not injured. 

Police said there are no known witnesses or suspects and a motive for the shooting is unknown.
