HOUSTON – A Houston woman is recovering in the hospital after a man stole her purse and shot her in the leg before he ran away.
The Houston Police Department says the shooting happened around 7:30 Monday evening in a parking lot at the Casa Nube Apartments at 9700 Court Glen Dr. near Bissonnet Street.
They say she was coming home and leaving her car when she was approached by a man with a gun.
Police say the man took her purse and at some point he shot the woman and got away with her purse.
The woman was wounded in the leg and transported to Southwest Memorial where she is listed in serious, but stable, condition.
She is expected to recover from her wound.
However, police are still trying to find the robber who shot her.
At this point they are interviewing the woman and witnesses to come up with a suspect description.
