City leaders to announce new park feature during Joe Turner's Retirement Event

Event at 2 p.m. at Emancipation Park Cultural Center


HOUSTON, Texas –  A new amenity is coming to Emancipation Park. 

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department and park officials will announce the new feature during Joe Turner's Retirement Event at Emancipation Park Friday afternoon.

Officials say the new park feature will provide year-round fun for the community.

City leaders, such as Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, are expected to attend the event.

Joe Turner's Retirement Event will start at 2 p.m. at the Emancipation Park Cultural Center on Dowling Street.
