Thieves smash into Wingstop, steal safe

HUMBLE, Texas – A Wingstop in northeast Harris County was smashed into early Wednesday morning causing extensive damage, police said.

Officials said around 3:30 a.m. someone noticed a window of the business broken out and called police.

A vehicle was used to crash into the restaurant on North Sam Houston Parkway and Wilson Road, police said.

In the process, a water pipe was also struck and water flooded the business.

Employees said the safe was stolen, but they do not keep very much money in it.

There is no word yet on how many people were involved or what kind of vehicle they used.

Employees said they have surveillance cameras and will review the footage with deputies to get more information.

They said the restaurant will be closed for two to three months.
