HOUSTON – Investigators will pay up to $5,000 for information on who broke into an auto parts store in January, shattering the front door and stealing batteries and hydraulic jacks.

The Houston Police Department’s metal theft unit is looking into the case, along with Crime Stoppers.

The burglary took place Jan. 29 at a shop in the 400 block of West Little York Road.

The burglars backed up a white economy van, threw a rock at the door, breaking the glass -- then entered the store, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

The same men have been involved in numerous other burglaries targeting auto parts shops, investigators said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online.
