LEAGUE CITY – The League City Police Department has made a special addition to its police force. Her name is Kadence Rodrigue.

Her connection to the LCPD came after a chance meeting in a grocery store. It all started on Friday when a League City police officer heard Kadence whispering about how cool it was to see a female officer.

Officer Jennafer Woitena approached Kadence, and the pair began talking. Kadence told officer Woitena that she wants to be a police officer some day.

Woitena decided to help her get a head start on her career by inviting her to the police station. Kadence met other officers and took pictures with them. She was even given an LCPD cadet badge.

The League City Police Department said Kadence is now part of the LCPD family.

While at a local grocery store Friday, Officer Jennafer Woitena heard a young lady whispering about how cool it was that she (Woitena) was a female officer. Officer Woitena approached the young lady who introduced herself as Kadence Rodrigue. Kadence went on to tell Officer Woitena that she wants to be a police officer some day, so Officer Woitena decided to help her get a head start on her career. Officer Woitena invited Kadence to the League City Police Department where Captain Hera was waiting for her and presented her with an LCPD Cadet badge. She then had her official police photograph taken with Officer Woitena, Sgt. Jordan and Captain Hera. Kadence then met Officer Hall and his handler, K9 Dina. Then it was off to the SWAT MRAP where Det. Haunschild showed her around. Kadence then got to spend some time in Officer Woitena's patrol vehicle. Help us welcome Kadence to the LCPD family by giving here a thumbs up!
