So what can you do between now and your big vacation?
“Incorporating a routine, workout strategy that is conducive with what you're doing and applicable in so many ways to make sure that you get the results,” said personal trainer Kyle Skinner at Fit Athletic Gym (www.fithouston.com) on West Gray in Houston.

“So, doing a high-volume type workout with a lot of intensity (kind of a) driven behind it, as well as eating the correct food while you're outside of the gym to help complement that,” he said.
Skinner said one way to get started is by doing exercises using your body weight. That could include sit-ups, push-ups and squats.
Skinner as well as fellow trainer Jeff Alonzo said the success of the majority of your fitness goals would depend on the food you eat.
Alonzo said you need to focus on the habits necessary to reach your goals. He said to not focus on the choices that have led to your current frustrating situation.
“The most important thing they can do is write down how it is they want to change their nutritional habits, what it is they're going to do to change their nutritional habits and how they're going to change their nutritional habits,” Alonzo said.
