1 man critically injured in southwest Houston shooting

HOUSTON – One person was critically injured Wednesday in a shooting in southwest Houston, according to police.

The incident was reported about 1:45 p.m. at an apartment complex at 6301 W. Bellfort Ave.and Bob White Drive.

According to Houston police, three people got out of a small red pickup truck in the parking lot of the apartment complex and confronted Angel Riveria-Cortez, 18,  who was sitting his vehicle. 

The confrontation between the men escalated and one of the three men pulled out a gun and shot at Riveria-Cortez, officials said. 

Police said Riveria-Cortez was injured in the shooting and is listed in critical condition.
