Man accused of towing stolen RV trailer, authorities say

Edward Hood also found to be in possession of controlled substance

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man accused of towing a stolen RV trailer with his vehicle was charged with theft, the Harris County Constable Pct. 4 Office said.

A deputy performed a traffic stop Saturday on a vehicle in the 2900 block of North Beltway 8 West after being flagged down by a concerned motorist in reference to the vehicle being suspicious. Authorities said the vehicle was stopped because of a traffic violation.

An investigation revealed the RV trailer being towed by 46-year-old Edward Hood's vehicle was stolen, but had not yet been reported as such out of Montgomery County, authorities said. Hood was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

"Hood was arrested and charged with theft $30,000 - $150,000 / possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Harris County Jail. His bond has been set at $15,000 at this time," Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said. "The case is set to be heard in County Criminal Court 351."

Authorities said Hood was taken into custody without incident.
