Felon caught driving around with shotgun in front seat of vehicle in Rosenberg, police say


ROSENBERG, Texas – A felon was arrested Sunday when police found a shotgun in the front seat of his vehicle, Rosenberg police said.

The incident was reported in the 200 block of Lane Drive.

Police said Andrew Perez, 26, was pulled over after officers were called to the 400 block Avenue N. due to a suspicious person driving a silver Chevrolet Malibu. Police said officers were told the person could be linked to a shooting in the Richmond area.

Police said during the investigation, officers saw the rear license plate on the Malibu had been covered and found a shotgun in the front seat.

Perez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carry of a firearm by a felon.

Perez is being held at the Fort Bend County Jail. No bail has been set.
