Man admits to uploading child sexual assault images, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit.

David Watkins, 71, was arrested after investigators became aware of his online activity.

High-Tech Crimes, with the help of the Department of Homeland Security, searched a home Feb. 24 in the 4400 block of Pleasant Trace Drive in Pasadena. They executed a search warrant in connection with  possession and distribution of child pornography.

Investigators spoke with Watkins who they said admitted that he had been looking for images of child sexual assault.

Police said Watkins also admitted to uploading child sexual assault images to an online storage system.

Investigators examined Watkins' computer and they said they found numerous images of child sexual assault, according to police.

Watkins is charged with possession of child pornography. He is currently free on a $20,000 bond.

He will be arraigned on April 18.
