HOUSTON – Texans fans didn’t mince words Thursday afternoon when news of quarterback Brock Osweiler’s trade was announced.
“I’m happy as hell he’s gone,” said Derek Nwogu, a Texans fan.
“I was screaming in my car,” said Yarad Bekale, who is also a fan. “I was in my car like, ‘Yeah!’”
The Cleveland Browns picked up Osweiler and a 2018 second-round pick in what’s being called a “stunning trade” with the Texans, which was looking to get rid of Osweiler’s guaranteed $16 million contract.
With Osweiler gone, Texans fans said they’re excited about the future and are wondering what’s in store for the team next season.
Fans couldn’t help but speculate.
“I think we’re going to draft a QB and I think Tom Savage is going to start,” said Jesus Garzon.
“I like Savage,” said Collin Beeston. “But I don’t know if he’s the one. Maybe they should take someone in the draft.”
“They might get Romo,” said Eron Williams. “He’s a game-changer."
“Tony Romo! We’re going to get Tony Romo,” said Nwogu. “And I’m calling it, Derek is calling it: Super Bowl next year!”
