Panhandler found in possession of cocaine, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies arrested a panhandler on March 1 after they said he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Deputies said they made a pedestrian stop on Gene Wagner, 45, as he was panhandling at the intersection of the North Freeway and FM 1960.

During the investigation, deputies said that they discovered Wagner to be in possession of approximately .3 grams of crack cocaine.

Wagner was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
