PORTER, Texas – A man was taken to the hospital Wednesday after he told deputy constables who were chasing him that he had swallowed about 10 oxycodone pills, authorities said.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office were patrolling an area in Porter when a vehicle was flagged as stolen, authorities said.
Deputies tried to stop the vehicle and the driver fled into a nearby neighborhood, authorities said. The driver crashed on McShan Lane and then fled on foot, they said. Several deputies chased the driver and used a Taser on him before he was arrested, they said.
The driver was identified as Brian Brown, 37, of Humble.
Investigators said a liquid that tested positive for methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle.
Deputies said Brown was hospitalized after he told them that he had swallowed oxycodone pills to get rid of them.
Brown was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, third-degree tampering or fabricating evidence to impair and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
